Nick Lachey, himself, “shot down” rumors of his marriage to Jessica Simpson going sour.

“Everything is absolutely wonderful in marriage, in life and love, and we’ve been saying it for months now, it’s just, ‘We’re okay,’” said Lachey Wednesday. “I love my wife to death and I support the heck out of her as any husband would.”

Though Simpson says she has toned down her extreme exercise routine since she finished shooting Hazzard, Lachey told PEOPLE he’s more attracted to his wife than ever.

“She’s still in great shape,” he said. “You’ve got to find that middle line between obsessive working out and also enjoying your time. So what we’ve done is increased the amount of sex.”

What?! You don’t say that, Nick, you don’t tell the public things like that!

If I never disbelieved the authenticity of this marriage before, boy do I, now. What a publicity-stunt remark.

I’m quite afraid, because I’ve realized this is similar to the future of what we’ll be hearing - and seeing, blagch! - from Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.

The film remake of “The Dukes of Hazzard,” starring Jessica Simpson, Johnny Knoxville and Sean William Scott, was released today, to terrible reviews.

CNN’s Headline: “Dukes of Hazzard is Roadkill.”

People’s Leah Rozen: “[The Dukes of Hazzard is a] laugh-free, woefully uninspired film version of the southern good ol’ boy TV series (1979-85)” and “the year’s worst movie.”

Rolling Stone Magazine: “There’s a stink coming off the big-screen Dukes of Hazzard that even fans of the TV series … won’t be able to shake out of their nostrils.”

Las Vegas Review Journal: “Hazzard-ous waste.”

NBC 7 Boston News reviewer remarked that he was surprised by Simpson’s performance, but basically only struck that Jessica could memorize the script. (Ouch!)

South Virginia’s Richmond Sun-Times: “… Jokes about blacks and gays that are decidedly uncomfortable to watch.”

And Ella? I would love to make witty snark (other than my headline) but I would not see this movie, especially after hearing that there is a homophobic vibe to it. Not cool, in fact, yes, putrid.
