I’m sure a lot of you already knew this, but I just found out about the Scientology principle of “silent birth”. When the time comes for Katie/Kate to deliver her baby, she will be expected to keep quiet while giving birth, since Scientologists believe it is traumatic for babies to hear their mother scream or groan when in labor. They think it can cause “psychic” damage, which takes years of therapy to overcome.

Painkillers and/or epidurals are also discouraged and anyone present during the delivery must also be silent, communicating only through gestures.

Only a man could come up with this stuff. If L.Ron Hubbard had ever had to give birth, I think the doctrine would be different.

So, as we approach the final days of the Holmes-Cruise pregnancy, signs have been put up outside her home reminding her to “be silent and make all physical movements slow and understandable”.

Yes, there’s nothing like a friendly game of charades. Especially during labor.

Because of this (and this picture) Mariska Hargitay is too fat to continue on with Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.. According to my sources, for the rest of the season she’s taking maternity leave, which has already started due to film schedules. The baby boy, with husband and SVU guest star, Peter Hermann, is due in June.

In recent episodes, she wasn’t shown below the chest, and barely seen on screen at all, although her face didn’t look as plump when they filmed. In the trailer for the next, we see her character “Liv” (Olivia) gets badly wounded. I have heard it from an intelligent source that Dick Wolf would not dare kill her off due to her popularity, and Mariska loves the show too much to leave. This plot line simply gives the actress time.

She’d better exercise this summer! Just saying.

Umm…is this a publicity stunt? Are they really dating?

The kiss looks a little… I don’t know, staged. Like they were trying desperately to ignore the cameraman they hired to document their date.

Paris and Nicky Hilton are going to have some media competition in a few years courtesy of their younger brothers.

Every once in a while, I come across a photo in which a person is wearing an outfit so bad, words fail me.

This is just such an outfit. I have no idea where to begin.

Do I start with what appears to be velour capri pants? Do I attempt some witty phrase to describe the vest with closures that appear to be brown rubber bands? Do I mention that it looks like her shoes are on the wrong feet?

I will say that I’m glad she wore the evening gloves. Otherwise I would have never known that it was a formal event. But, other than that, I’m at a loss for words.

What has happened to Sharon Stone? The hair….the gold lipstick…the red glowing eyes…

Ok, I did the eyes. I know it’s a bit silly, but I couldn’t resist just a little photo-shopping because I am totally convinced that she is possessed. It’s the only explanation.

First, she appeared looking like she had styled her hair with a vaccuum and a gallon of Aqua Net at the Oscar after parties and now this Medusa-esque hair nightmare. It can only be the work of dark evil forces. Sharon Stone has obviously descended into hairstyle madness.

Please, remember her as she was and just try to look away.
