In an interview with GL Magazine-Uk, Katie Leung who plays Harry Potter’s love interest, Cho Chang, said that she thought American celebrities tend to give bad examples to young girls.

The 18 year old was asked what she thought of young celebrity girls being so thin today:

“I Don’t really look up to American celebrities, most of them give a bad example to young girls. Like Mary Kate Olsen, I’ve heard she’s anorexic. You see pictures of her looking like a skeleton, I mean, a lot of young girls look up to her and there she is giving a bad example. You also see her walking around drinking and smoking. I respect her personal decisions but for me personally, that’s just another bad example.”

Errr.. since when was having a disease setting a bad example?

Nicole Richie fills up her car just like the rest of us. Except that I usually don’t wear a kimono. And, if I did, it wouldn’t be this one.

She’s just such a slip of a girl. Waifish, even. I’m surprised she had enough strength to lift the pump handle…

This quote caught my eye and made me laugh so hard I just had post it. I lived in Waldorf, Maryland for three years. It’s all strip malls and housing developments. It is, in no way shape or form, “ghetto”. It’s just a typical suburb.

This past Friday, singer/songwriter John Mayer tried his hand at stand-up comedy. The singer went on as a special guest at the Comedy Cellar in New York City. Reviews of his fifteen minute performance seem to indicate that he should stick to singing songs. One person describes him as seeming “drunk or stoned, maybe both”.

The following section is taken directly from the source material, complete with comments from the original author who attended the performance. You can make your own decision as to whether you think John has a future career in comedy. Here’s some of what he had to say:

1) Women are sluts (If you’re expecting a punchline here…so were we. Didn’t come.)

Madonna and her 9 year old daughter, along with Guy Ritchie, arrived in NYC this week for Madonna’s upcoming concert dates.

I just can’t get over how much Lourdes looks like her mother. She’s like a miniature replica, especially in this picture.

Moose, known to millions as Eddie, the scene-stealing Jack Russell terrier on ‘Frasier’, passed away last Thursday at the ripe old age of 16 and a half.

His trainer was quoted as saying, “He just had an incredible charisma and was such a free spirit.”

In addition to his ten year stint on ‘Frasier’, Moose also had a starring role in the film ‘My Dog Skip’, as the older version of Skip. The younger Skip was played by his son, Enzo.

In 2003, Animal Planet ranked Eddie the Dog fifth in its 50 Greatest TV Animals special, behind only Lassie, Kermit the Frog, Flipper and Mr. Ed.

Victoria Beckham reportedly lost 6lbs from her already skinny frame before flying to Germany for the World Cup. The brunette - who is married to football ace David Beckham - is said to have eaten only sushi and pineapple in a bid to shed almost half a stone in time to watch her husband play. The slim star’s weight loss has sparked fears for her health. A source from the hotel where Victoria is staying told Britain’s The People newspaper:

“Victoria’s wasting away and there is nothing we can do about it. Although she is undoubtedly one of the sexiest women in the world her arms and legs look very thin. Sometimes she looks so thin you worry she might snap in two.”

Another source said the former Spice Girl is conscious of her eating habits and often skips meals with the partners of the England football team to eat with her three sons.
The insider said: “She hates people looking at her eating and probably feels uncomfortable because she knows people are always talking about her weight.

“While the girls order chips and burgers whenever they get the munchies in the hotel, Victoria sticks to green vegetables, raw fish and fruit.” The source added: “Victoria even admitted she’d lost 6lbs before even flying over.”

So, Jude and Sienna have been spotted together more frequently during recent weeks and it looks like their on again, off again romance is back on. At least for the moment.

With all the photos being snapped of the reunited couple, one thing keeps running through my mind. Some of their fashion choices have been downright mind-boggling.

For example, witness Sienna’s swimsuit in the city, which was the subject of a previous post, and Jude’s knee length baggy khakis paired with some sort of pointy, slip- on man clog.

There were actually multiple sightings of this pant/shoe combination last week. It must be his current favorite.

And now this.

A multicolored skull beanie with a see through shirt and a makeshift ascot?

Judging from the look on his face, it seems even Jude is a bit dazed and confused by his ensemble.

Matt Damon is reportedly the first choice to play Captain Kirk in the next installment of the “Star Trek” film series.

JJ Abrams, creator of “Lost” and “Alias”, is slated to direct and is very interested in having Damon in the role of Kirk.

William Shatner, who played the original Kirk, has reportedly given his blessing.

Rocker Elvis Costello announced Sunday that he and his wife, jazz singer Diana Krall, are expecting a child. The baby is due in December just in time for their third wedding anniversary.
