Reese Witherspoon, pictured above in a recent photo with husband Ryan Phillippe, filed a lawsuit on Wednesday against Star magazine and its parent company, American Media Inc., over a cover story that claimed she is pregnant with her third child. The article went on to suggest that the actress was hiding her pregnancy from producers of her upcoming films and hiding her body under old fashioned swimsuits, baggy clothes and empire waist dresses.

Reese claims that the story was fabricated to boost “sagging sales” of the magazine and that it was an invasion of privacy which had the potential to damage her reputation by implying that she was dishonest with producers.

Witherspoon’s lawyer has said definitively that the star is not pregnant.
The issue of Star magazine with the cover story is already available in some stores.

Mary J. Blige will make a cameo appearance on ABC’s “One Life to Live” on July 28th. She will perform two songs from her latest album, “The Breakthrough, ” at the fictional club Capricorn in the town of Llanview.

The executive producer of the show, Frank Valenti, said “the cast and I, being huge fans of Mary J. Blige’s talent, are thrilled that she will be appearing on ‘One Life to Live’”.

I just love pictures of celebrities caught looking a bit goofy. Somehow it just makes them seem more normal to me. After all, I have shoeboxes full of photos of me with friends where one eye is half closed or I have eighteen chins or my mouth is open or some such nonsense. I mean, who really takes a good photograph all the time?

So, here’s Nicole Kidman. It looks like she turned her back on the camera and then swung around saying, “superstar”. All she needs are jazz hands.

And, Jessica Simpson sticking out her tongue with Eva Longoria. Maybe she’s trying to touch the tip of her nose with it.

Angelina Joilie has made her dying mother’s final wish come true. Marcheline Bertrand longed to see the smile of her new-born granddaughter.

The ailing French actress, who had Angelina with her ex-husband, Hollywood star Jon Voight, has been receiving round-the-clock cancer care in Beverly Hills. She was too ill to fly to Namibia to be at her daughter’s side for the birth of Shiloh Nouvel last month. Marcheline had managed to spend some time in France earlier in the pregnancy but returned to LA for more medical attention.

“Angelina and her mum are really close. Their time apart during the latter stages of her pregnancy was tough. She originally wanted to give birth to Shiloh in France — the country where her mum was born and raised. But Marcheline simply wasn’t well enough to make the long-haul flight to be by her daughter’s side. Ange has been determined to let her mum hold Shiloh before it was too late. When she finally put Shiloh in her mum’s arms it was an emotional moment to say the least. Angelina was overwhelmed that her mum managed to battle through to see her granddaughter at last.”

The Sun then reported, that Brad Pitt was her ‘hubby-to-be’ which I found very odd. Anyone heard anything about them getting married?

She says Timberlake made his decision after he and his pals went on a stag weekend to Las Vegas and Cameron “went chasing after him. She was just too clingy.” Diaz, said to be “devastated,” has had bad luck before. Her past flames include Matt Dillon and Jared Leto.

Drenched in blood-red paint and screaming a war-cry, this chilling image of Wayne Rooney was last night condemned as ‘offensive’, ‘exploitative’ and ‘tacky’ by MPs and church groups.

He may yet turn out to be the saviour of England’s World Cup campaign, but the Christ-like pose of the striker in a new Nike campaign yesterday provoked fierce condemnation. Five people complained to the Advertising Standards Authority watchdog on religious grounds within hours of the advert being posted.

Its other interpretation as a battle cry from the dark ages or throwback to the Crusades was equally unfortunate as the poster’s launch coincided with the first outbreak of serious violence involving England’s army of fans in Germany on Monday night.

Labour MP Stephen Pound said the advert was ‘truly horrible.’

“This is such a horrible image and is so horribly war-like that it can only be described as Nike being crass, offensive and insensitive as they try to hitch poor old Rooney to their commercial band-wagon.”

Nike, who have a £5m contract with the 20-year-old striker, pleaded that they were merely showing him in his trademark goal-scoring ‘celebration’ gesture and denied they had sought to make any comparison with Christ on the cross.

Rev Rod Thomas of Church of England evangelical group Reform was not convinced.

“It’s quite a disturbing image and because the paint is wet, it really looks like blood. It’s offensive on several different levels. It therefore brings to mind the crucifixion to many people, and why Nike would want to do that, I haven’t a clue, unless it is simply as a publicity stunt. The trivialisation of Christ’s suffering is highly offensive to Christians and to God. This will cause real hurt to people.”

I can see how Christians would find it offensive but bloody hell (no pun inteded)! Sometimes these hardcore church people really need to loosen up. He’s holding his arms up to look like the flag of England. It wouldn’t be the flag with his hands in any other position, up down or diagonally across.
