American Idol is actually getting its own red carpet pre-show, tonight! What a first. How ridiculous.

A little prediction? Simon Cowell proclaimed Taylor Hicks (Soul Patrol!) won the competition with last night’s performance. That may actually send voters in compensation-overdrive (if La Toya history proves alive and well). My vote’s for Katharine McPhee. (It would be anyway, had I voted.)

And if this hot chick doesn’t win over odd Hicks, there has been a huge shake-up with the status-quo. Are we ready for that?
