Britney’s Baby Photo Crisis

For those of you who have not been surfing the web all weekend, here is the latest news on Britney Spears. Apparently a deal was set fourth with her and PEOPLE magazine to publish the first interview and pics of her new Baby boy, Preston Spears. Something happened after the shoot, and Britney “freaked” out and wanted to pull the plug, saying she felt selling pics of her baby would be selling him out, and she didn’t want to do that. Then, somehow, a few of those photos found their way to the World Wide Web, and Britney released a statement lashing out at everyone who posted the photos on websites. Her label and reps immediately threatened to sue over the stolen pics, and craziness erupted all over sites on the net.
I find this an interesting situation. I do not think negatively about Britney changing her mind, I feel she has every right to want to keep her child in a private light. But, the photos were already taken and walked out the door when she did have this change of heart. Now, no one on the “net” was using the photos for profit. Sure, photos bring hits to sites. But why the huge threat to sue everyone for doing something, that in Internet terms, is perfectly legal? It is not illegal to post a picture on a site, nor is it illegal to copy and paste it from one site to another (Unless one is claiming copyright to the photo. Then, yes, grounds for suing permittable). Morally, I think she was hurt and angry. But Britney, this is the field you chose for your career, and for your name, and ulitmately, Your son’s name. He will never NOT be famous. He will never NOT have photos of him floating around the internet….for the rest of his life. I apologize that you changed your mind, and re-evaluated your decision, only to have it thrown in your face. But face your reality sweetie. You are, and your son is, a desired public icon….and people will always stab you in the back to make a buck…. That’s Hollywood, and boy it stinks.

Maybe I am old fashioned, but I think it’s simply bad parenting for these Hollywood Icons to have their babies raised in the spotlight. I think they should really think long and hard about what they are doing to the child. Unfortunately for young spears, I’m afraid he won’t be the brightest lightblub. At least he’ll be famous…I think.

She’s immature and entered into her marriage with stars in her eyes; he’s a self-centered rap wannabe who’ll never make it. Pity their child …
