It’s a little (lot?) late, but soo worth it. It’s totally buzzy that Jessica Biel wore the same dress as Hilary Swank. Yes, but that happens so often, it’s not really news is it?
No one has seemed to point out (or perhaps have found this great photo [sorry, I lost the source!]) how the two starlets compare in looks. Well there simply is no comparison - from hair to derriere, Biel is phat while Swank looks flat.
This is really sad and cruel. Swank has always been boyish, why must she be tortured so? I’d suggest she get some body contouring hose and push-up bras and even have all her future dresses custom-made and one of a kind. Poor girl.
On the gossip front, Biel’s said to be dating Justin Timberlake. I hear poor Cameron’s fuming too. Jessica’s definitely on a lucky streak now, I guess.

Reese Witherspoon wins best hair from the Golden Globes, for her growing it out to possibly celebrate singlehood. Love the bangs. Straight hair - is it in for Spring?
And…
Best shoes!!!!!! Aaaaaaahhhhh.
She’s wearing Nina Ricci, for the record. Gold and red, what a combo.

Sienna Miller on the red carpet, a Grecian Goddess (I might overuse that, but this truly appears so!), looking lovelier than ever.
*Update, She’s wearing Marchesa. I need to get a full body shot of this stunner.*

Scarlett Johansson has dissed Isaac Mizrahi, just enough, in just enough time to create more buzz for the Oscars.

The first interview I do [on the red carpet at the Golden Globe awards], someone who I have never met before fondles me for his own satisfaction.”
Johansson said the move was “definitely in poor taste,” though she doubted Mizrahi, who is gay, actually got any satisfaction out of it.
“He was making some shocking show, or whatever, for his channel and wanted to be different and racy and all those things.”
Similarly, Johansson said she didn’t buy his excuse that he was only trying to figure out how her dress was made. “Like he doesn’t know how a dress works,” she said.
Johansson said all the attention given to the incident was hardly worth it, though she said it’s likely Mizrahi “is thrilled with the press and attention it’s getting.”
As I’ve reported, Mizrahi is hosting the preshow for the Oscars, on E!, as well. Scarlett probably wants the attention on herself, though.

Apparently, Mariah Carey insists on having popcorn in her dressing room before and after her performances. A spy told British Daily Express that, “When she was promoting her last single in the UK, she asked for Butterkist toffee popcorn in her dressing room.”
Incidentally, Mariah has defended herself against claims US fashion expert David Evangelista who said she was one of the worst dressed at the 2006 Golden Globes awards, citing her Chanel dress made her look like “a wine bottle opener.” Mariah lashed back: “Satin is very unforgiving. “What was I going to do? Call Karl Lagerfeld and say, ‘Can you please make it out of matte jersey instead?’”

Kirsten Dunst strikes again! With Chanel already begging for Reese Witherspoon’s forgiveness, there are now reports that the “vintage” Chanel lace dress worn by Natalie Portman at the Golden Globes was previously worn by Kirsten Dunst in 2003 and Debra Messing in 2001! What is going on over at Chanel headquarters? The house of Chanel seems to feel that once a dress is worn by Ms. Dunst, it can safely be labeled “vintage”. Although this most recent scandal is not confirmed, the dresses are seemingly identical in the photos. I think Coco would be very displeased.

Keira Knightley’s Valentino was so original, unique, and simple and ornate at the same time. She was the queen of the night, fashion-wise.

Emmy Rossum is just beautiful, and I love the layers of different-sized tulle ruffles on her Dior gown.

Jessica Alba in a nicely shaped, flattering Versace gown.

Felicity Huffman gets enough love from her husband, so I’ve nothing more to say than “she is in Marchesa,” to add to that fluffy train.

Kyra Sedgwick: I love the lacey ruffles and different use of trendy and flattering belts on her gown by Bottega Veneta.
Minus points for showing leg. Bonus points for showing shoe.

Eva Longoria … in the butt pucker dress by Bob Mackie?

Teri Hatcher: Glitz n’ Diva in Versace. Minus points for skank and attention desperation.

Zhang Ziyi gets points for wearing a bright color in this Giorgio Armani.

The Best Hair at the 2006 Golden Globe Awards:

Felicity Huffman.
I apologize for not being able to find a picture of the back of her ‘do. It consisted of perfectly twisted, put-into-place curls that looked angelic on her, quite matching the goddess gown, with perfectly placed sparkling strips.

I’m sorry, but I completely disagree with anyone who thought Natalie Portman looked good at the Golden Globes, especially those who liked her hair. The hair ruined the lovely vintage Chanel dress, and it nearly ruins her pure beauty. I can’t wait for it to grow back, and I’m not sure I’ll be able to stomach watching the movie she went bald for.

Ellen Pompeo had perfectly nice, straight hair. Then “Brad” called, and she decided to go curly. This faux crimp-curl do distracted me from anything else about her the evening of the awards, I didn’t even notice her awful frock.
Gee, thanks, Wash N’ Curl™.
