I guess Madonna and Guy’s marriage is really on the outs. There have been rumors that their marriage was failing and now Madonna admits that she married Guy to make her look good. She told Tatler: “I went into the marriage saying, ‘He’s fantastically talented, very witty, very smart. He’s going to make me laugh and look good because he’s so successful and of course, he’s gorgeous, sexy and handsome.”

She married the British film director in December 2000 and now she’s having second thoughts: “But none of these things mean anything after you’ve been sharing a life together for a few years and you’re dealing with raising children and scheduling finances.”

Is this the end of Madonna and Guy? Maybe then she’ll move back to the states and get rid of that horribly affected faux English accent.

Madonna, Celine Dion and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, are all distantly related according to genealogist William Addams Reitwiesner.

I’m not quite sure I see the family resemblance. I wonder what these ladies will do now that they know they are related. Have tea together? I can’t imagine the conversation.

Maybe Celine and Madonna could embark on a world tour together. But, I’m not sure what Camilla would do. Maybe she could put on some hot pants and be one of the backup dancers. Although that doesn’t seem very Duchess-y.

Madonna and her biceps attended the parties on Sunday night. I’m officially over the Farrah Fawcett hair and I think the dress is a terrible color for her. I’m not too crazy about the style of the dress either….or the shoes. I don’t know what it is about Madonna lately. She just looks so….sinewy. I’m concerned.

Madonna spoke to Harper’s Bazaar about her injury from her horseback riding incident that left her with three cracked ribs, a broken collarbone and a broken hand.

“Forget about riding a horse again – I didn’t know if I was going to be able to dance again.”

“When I shot the video (for ‘Hung Up’) none of the bones had gone together. Pharmaceuticals and my will got me through the shoot.”

Wow, Madonna is really stupid for putting her body through that strain and in that risk.

At first glance of the stories today about Madonna’s hernia surgery, I had a hunch. Could her exercising have been a causal factor? I didn’t find any information to help, until I saw a piece on a tacky (wicked awesome) celebrity news show (loove it) that backed me up. (I’m not naming, because their website doesn’t have the story for me to better tell the story. Boo to them.)

A personal trainer explained to the cameras that too much abdominal strain while exercising can cause hernias. He gave the tip to everyone to immediately stop any sit-ups when one feels pain in the back (who knew? thanks!).

Also, by this point, many sources online are picking on her “gyrating” Grammy Awards performance for the blame. That of course is along the same lines, but I believe there had to have been a growing problem before that from her recent toning up.

I wrote a great piece on Madonna’s new fitter body and her strange pushing of what she’d like to think of as “Gymnast Chic.” But then I scanned a photo. In my all-in-one’s interpretation of the magazine image (which I then did see in the original), some angles came in more defined: she looks more Anorexic Chic or Anorexic Cheek, if you will.

Is Madonna exercising herself to sickness?

Well, it took me a while to get my Grammy thoughts in order. There was so much to think about and I couldn’t decide what to post first. So, I’ll start with the show itself. Overall, I thought the awards show performances were kind of lackluster, boring and uninspired. But, for me, there were some memorable performances:

Madonna and the Gorillaz- This pairing left me scratching my head in confusion. The members of the Gorillaz were given the Shrek treatment and appeared in 3D, De La Soul appeared out of nowhere for approximately 30 seconds and Madonna gyrated with Farrah hair, cut-off stockings, corset and a leotard. Honestly, I just wanted her to put some pants on. I mean, she has an amazing figure and has exercised every ounce of fat off her body, but her shtick is getting a little tired.

John Legend- I think he’s amazing. He is soulful and easy on both the eyes and ears. However, he was immediately followed by the country band “Sugarland”, which was a bit jarring.

Paul McCartney- Tearing into “Helter Skelter”, he gave the most punk rock performance of the evening and he can still hit all those high notes. It was a gentle reminder from Sir Paul that he wrote one of the greatest rock and roll songs of all time.

U2 and Mary J. Blige- Although their voices didn’t really gel together all that well, their passionate, heartfelt vocals rocked the house.

Sly Stone- Sly came out of seclusion to perform all too briefly with the band during an all star tribute to his music. So what if he had a foot tall platinum Mohawk, shiny silver suit and platform boots? He rocks.

Jay Z, Linkin Park and Paul McCartney- There are some pairings during awards shows that defy description. This was one of them.

Kanye West and Jamie Foxx- I have to admit, I love marching bands. So, this was pretty cool.

Madonna seems to be everywhere lately. It’s true she’s always had a knack for staying in the public eye, but there are so many news items floating around about her it’s dizzying. These are the things I’ve read in the past week alone…

There are rumors that her longstanding feud with Mariah Carey continues. Jon Bon Jovi has apologized to her. She will not allow Lourdes to audition for a part in the next Harry Potter film. She has been voted the best celebrity mother in Britain. Friends are worried she’s exercising too much and jeopardizing her health.

I have to say, as someone who grew up watching Madonna from the very start of her career, I don’t really recognize the Material Girl of my youth anymore. These are not the headlines I would have ever expected to see. Diva smack-downs and too much exercise? Maybe. But, mother of the year awards? Never. It used to be fairly simple. All of the news items about Madonna revolved around sex or bad films. But now, she’s a married mother who lives in the English countryside and strives for spirituality. So, who is she now?

Is she really just a simple lady of the manor who feeds her birds and dresses like Grace Kelly? Or, is she her latest incarnation as pictured at the top of the post? The techno trashy, leotard clad, disco diva with the Farrah Fawcett hair. I’m hoping for the latter. But, with Madonna, you never know.

This could be a very nice suit, at quick glance.

But, yes, those are 90-degree-angle shoulder pads.

They make her huge boobs look even droopier than they are (what is up with her rack?!).

And the sleeves are much longer than her arms. We can’t even see the tip of a finger.

Yes, Madonna is in desperate need of a tailor.
