I think I can muster up enough excitement to say that the Sex and the City film has finally arrived. It’s been drummed up so much that I feel like it’s already happened. Perezhilton gave us the exclusive:

There had been talk recently, but now the ink is dry and the papers are signed! Sources confirm exclusively to PerezHilton.com that Sarah Jessica Parker and everyone else involved just closed their deals this week to star in a big screen feature adaptation of Sex & The City. And, yes, Kim Cattrall will be in it!

I understand that in order be a fashion icon, risks must be taken and there will be times when you miss the target.

And, Sarah Jessica Parker is a fashion icon, no doubt. I mean, she was Carrie Bradshaw, for goodness sake.

So, even though I really don’t like this dress at all because it looks really stiff and I don’t like the sleeves or the waist sash-y thing or the way it kind of bubbles at the bottom and looks like it was made from something akin to foil, her iconic status is still intact with me. Even after the disastrous plaid incident…

But, I always adore her shoes and this is no exception. I love the color and the style. I just can’t recall her wearing a bad shoe…

Well, of all the contestants on the last season of ‘Project Runway’, these were the last two I would ever think would be sighted together. Unless it was Nick and Zulema, that would be weirder. I don’t think Nick will ever forgive her for stealing his model…

Anyway, as I anxiously await the next season, I’m always on the lookout for what the former contestants are up to now. So, when I read that both Nick AND Santino were sighted together outside a West Hollywood nightclub last week, I just had to post it.

Turns out it was just a chance meeting for the two designers, but they caused quite a stir anyway and posed for pictures with fans.

So, what are they up to now?

Santino just attended the MTV Movie Awards where he designed MTV correspondent Suchin Pak’s dress (pictured). He will also appear in an upcoming photo spread in Details Magazine with other reality stars.

Nick will appear in the next season of ‘Project Runway’ as a judge for one of the castings and host, Heidi Klum will model some of his designs in the new season. Nick also recently received a phone call from Sarah Jessica Parker. Parker told Nick she wants to wear one of his designs to a future red carpet event.

I’m glad to see they are both continuing to get new projects, since I always thought they were both talented. My only question is, “Where’s Andrae?”

Awards season is a very exciting time for me. I’m thoroughly addicted to these shows and I freely admit it. From the Golden Globes to the Emmys, whenever the celebrity red carpet is rolled out, it fills me with a fiendish delight. What will the celebrities be wearing? And, more importantly, will what they choose to wear be wonderfully unfashionable?

Now, I do appreciate the beautifully dressed celebrities walking down the red carpet with the perfect dresses, perfect hair, perfect accessories, etc. I just don’t usually write about them.

Award show fashion missteps are just so much more fun to write about. So, as I view each award show, I scour the scene to find those few fabulous individuals who have chosen to totally ignore the advice of their stylist or spouse or clergy or psychic or accountant or shaman or pet or Joan Rivers or whomever and just “go for it” on the red carpet. After all, who doesn’t remember Bjork’s swan dress and Lara Flynn Boyle’s strange ballerina tutu?

So, it is with glee that I look forward to tonight’s SAG Awards. If the red carpet is anything like last year, I will not be disappointed. Kyra Sedgwick’s sherbet dress from the 2005 SAG Awards made my year end fashion review. Below are some of my other favorite fashion moments from last year’s ceremony. But, as much fun as it to take a look back, I can’t wait to see what’s new on the red carpet tonight! So, check back for postings about the 2006 SAG Awards!

Felicity Huffman’s dress was reminiscent of one of those spandex slimming undergarments with added see through scarf panels added along the bottom. The panels were attached with Velcro, so she could tear them off later at the after parties while performing her legendary dance of the two veils.

Sarah Jessica Parker gave a nod to her days on Square Pegs with this 80’s looking polka dot dress. Since she’s already wearing something that looks like a modified skinny tie around her neck, all she needs are bright neon-colored leg warmers and maybe a few hundred black rubber bracelets to complete the look. It’s too bad she didn’t crimp her hair…

Kristin Chenoweth stole my mother’s kitchen curtains!

Everything about Sarah Jessica Parker at the Golden Globes was subdued, aside from the hair, which I love, and that necklace, which is of course her shining focal point. And it even explains the hair—which needed to be swept up off of the face. She did a great job of dressing.

The stones on that hunka Fred Leighton sparkle so, that I can’t get my eyes off of them. Until I catch a glimpse of Sarah Jessica’s face, done up with the perfect, fresh makeup. Her face is shining, too! Both gorgeous details made Sarah radiant!

Keira Knightley’s large Cartier earrings topped off her goddess-worthy dress and bare skin, very well. Not too large for a bare chest, and minimal make-up and hair-styling; they did a good job of bringing attention to lovely Keira’s remarkable face. And attention needs to be there, for when she speaks, cherubic angels sweep light notes across their harps, in pure inspiration of her divine singularity and lyrical voice. (I a bit of a crush on her).

Carrie: How about I read you a little bit of my favorite poetry?
Aleksandr: Please.
Carrie: [Reads from Vogue] “Cocktails at Tiffany’s calls for classic charm. Oscar de la Renta sleeveless silk full skirted dress with black patent leather bow belt.” Now that is pure poetry.

Sarah Jessica is also wearing an Oscar de la Renta jacket and gold metallic t-strap stiletto sandals. Aleksandr’s suit is by Valentino.

Carrie Bradshaw is* the ultimate in upscale, high fashion for any occasion. Here Sarah’s character waits, all alone, to hit the town. In the end (of the following and final episode) a prince came to her rescue, but it wasn’t Aleksandr.
