While presenting an award on Saturday at the Cannes film festival this past weekend, Sir Elton’s speech was interrupted by a photographer. Here’s what he had to say:
“… I’m talking … you f—wit, f—ing photographers you should be shot, you should be all shot. Thank you.”
Well, I guess we know how he feels about the press now, don’t we? Personally, I love Sir Elton’s tirades. You never know when they’ll happen, but he’s such a grand, aging diva and he has no internal editor whatsoever, so he always just says the first thing that pops into his head. And that combination can certainly produce some interesting quotes…

It’s the thank you that does it for me. I imagine that was the end to his speech, like the utterance was even in the speech. “Make it work, Elton.” or “Ow, gotta get out, attempt a graceful exit.”
