Jessica and Nick– Splitsville?

According to US Weekly, this week Nick and Jessica fessed up to a pending divorce. Yet, according to their PR and Reps … those announcements are false. Now, A British paper reports that Jessica and Nick landed in London on Friday, taking a much needed vacation from the Divorce scandals. Both have been spotted in recent weeks not wearing their wedding rings, and Jessica attended little sis Ashlee’s 21st birthday soiree solo. Are these rumors true? Could there be an end in sight for this highly publicized couple? I mean, Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt were vacationing in Florida the day there Rep’s announced they were splitting. Are Jessica and Nick just throwing us around for awhile until the big news finally arrives?
This leads me to the ultimate question of this whole scenario: Is a strong, lasting marriage even possible in Hollywood? We have seen split after split, shocking divorce after shocking divorce. But truly, if it’s Hollywood, why is it so “shocking” ? We have all come to accept that relationships are non existent, if not a joke in Hollywood standards. It’s like lately, relationships are the free goodies Bag you get at awards shows and events. It’s just something you expect between co-stars and party goers, they will just hook up because the Opportunity is there. But for it to be sacred or mean something … eh, who cares? They just throw it away like the stuff they didn’t want or already had in their Goodie sack.
I, for one, am never shocked when couples split. I will admit that the Jennifer and Brad divorce threw me for a loop. I didn’t anticipate that one. They seemed to honestly care about each other very much. But obviously Brad Pitt thinks caring and marriage is just another celebrity perk for him … and he walked away with a gift from the set of “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” — Angelina. So, needless to say … I wasn’t much of a fan of his before, and I am certainly NOT now.
But why are celebrities so non-chalant about their relationships? It’s irritating, really!
So, can we see Jessica and Nick heading down this Splitsville track? Has the overwhleming publicity and such gotten to them? Has the lovey dovey newness of being “newlyweds” worn off, and now it’s over?

I’m sort of surprised that they’re giving up the act. This marriage was always a sort of farce, IMHO. You could see it in their show. The couple had nothing really holding them together, personality-wise.
I always thought he put up with her for her body.
Now, I wonder what triggered “the end.” Maybe it’s just that their show isn’t returning, why put on a fake face without that? Now Jessica can have lots of scandals with single men, it’ll be great for her.
Nick’s going nowhere.

Nick and Jessica were a bad match from the beginning. I do not know how he put up with her for so long. Her stupid remarks and sudden interest in partying were all signs leading to the divorce. She is not the person that she was when they married and that transformation was obvious to everyone. As for Nick, good luck to him, she was the one keeping him afloat. I am sorry to admit that this divorce was obvious before the marriage even took place.

I think that most all of the celebrities need to get over themselves. I mean come on, Jen and Brad were together for-ever and then what, he wakes up one day and wants Angelina. It doesn’t matter who you are you have to think about other peoples feelings. Jessica and Nick & Jen and Brad are the two couples that I would have liked to see stick together.
