Newlyweds: Jessica and Nick: Final Season

Starring :

It is widely assumed by intelligent observers that relationships in Hollywood bloom and fade at opportune times. Stars hook up to heat up, not their libidos, but their press coverage. Brad left Jennifer after Friends had ended. Perhaps their partnership was no longer needed, in someone’s eyes? Maybe it was a publicity boost for a changing career; sympathy for Aniston. And, of course, there was buzz for Pitt’s movie, Mrs. and Mrs. Smith; the co-stars actually getting together? Perfection! (in sickos’ eyes).

Newlyweds Nick & Jessica Seasons 1There will not be a new season of Newlyweds; it should only make sense that such a titled show would not make a long run. But there are now well-founded rumors that the “real-life” marriage is over, as well. (Seen without rings!) It makes sense for the pair to couple-up and mock infatuation (& hardly realistically portray compatibility) just to shoot a television series for the respective popularity-waining stars (at that time). I believe they once were an item, but they broke up over their differences, and the way I see it: they reconciled only for “the show.”

“New”-ness does not last long, and Newlyweds couldn’t realistically last on television, to attempt that would be an obvious vie for attention (how cheap). Now with the series over, the actual people can move on. In slowly weaning out of the facade, they can pull in even more buzz, until—perhaps—it finally comes to an “explosion” in an announcement of a break-up.

Perhaps the calculated time will be about when Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica: The Final Season is released to DVD, on December 6th (timed, itself, for the last minute holiday rush).

But maybe they won’t make the trick last that long. In two weeks, October 26th, will be the third anniversary of that publicized wedding. What “surprise” may burst on us, then? Will the pair celebrate … together? Let’s be nice and feign concern, for it might be the last hurrah in their separate careers, if not for their joint one.
