The New York Times Magazine has compiled photographs of the actors who, in their opinion, gave the most memorable film performances of 2005. To view the gallery, click here.
The portraits were taken by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. Included in the slide show gallery are several Academy Award nominees including Heath Ledger, Reese Witherspoon, George Clooney, Rachel Weisz and Philip Seymour Hoffman.
The photos are stunning and include artsy details like cat eye contact lenses and tattoos as well as a lot of what appears to be mud for William Hurt and gold body paint for Charlize Theron. Definitely worth a look.
