The Site’s Issue with Weight
July 7th, 2006 at 3:06 pm by Editor Ella » Bookmark on del.icio.us » Digg It?I apologize very much for any frustration our dear, regular readers went through over the holiday weekend.
As owner of a blog network, I wanted everything to be vulgar-free, nudity-free and cuss-free. Sometimes that doesn’t happen. These things are difficult to maintain in a celebrity blog. These things are difficult to moderate with headstrong bloggers. Some of my moral aspirations have to give in order to get attention. I love attention, I can’t help it. Was I wrong to have this blog?
Sometimes I feel bad. Should we keep the blog? Well, we should change. I’ve started stricter rules relating to vulgarity and even weight issues. If you’d like, it can be up to the readers how far we can take the prodding. (Can we even try to “help” celebs, by encouraging to gain weight?)
What do you want to see on this blog? Only fashion, perhaps? Let me know how you’re feeling.
Miss Cinnamon is no longer blogging with us, due to artistic differences. I’m very sorry if you enjoyed her posts. She was great in many ways, and brought us attention. But this is probably for the best (as long as we keep you).
For the record, her post on Mary Kate’s anorexia was not a bad thing. The commenters got fired up, though, which is fine. If you disliked the post, re-read it. Miss Cinnamon was right in stating that having the disease of anorexia is not the actress’s fault. I’m sure it was just a very heavy straw for some, and I’m sorry.
It’s time to move on and away from such things.
Tell us what you love (or dislike) about the blog/bloggers, as that will help us know what to do.
Wish us luck on a new beginning. I thank you for being readers!

I’ve always appreciated that your site has a positive slant and doesn’t tend to be cruel to celebrities who make fashion mistakes. The focus should be on the clothes and overall look. If, like in the recent Kelly Clarkson post, you are pointing out that a fuller body can look great in a bikini, that is appropriate. Or pointing out that Ellen Pompeo doesn’t dress well for her slight build is appropriate.

I applaud all your efforts with this blog. I personally love seeing the photos of famous people making ridiculous fashion choices; but, what I enjoy more is reading the witty — yet NOT unkind — comments of the bloggers, especially HeidiGoLightly and SJS. I think it’s great to point out what’s right and wrong about people’s fashion, as long as it’s done in a tasteful, humorous, inoffensive way. There are plenty of ways to be critical without being cruel. I believe HGL has mastered that art. Keep up the good work with the writing staff you now have! (And thanks for listening to your readers. It’s a wonderful thing.)

I really like the blog, and I think that after a long day, the blog at least make me laugh. The posts are very funny and intelligent, and I hope you guys stay that way forever!

I think this site is too uptight. there’s nuttin wrong a few cuss words here and there. nuttin wrong wit being a bit mean sometimse. they are celebrities and they put themselves out there to be judged. there are lots of magazines out there that are very cruel. nuttin wrong with that cuz thats life innit?
I laughed a lot more at miss cs posts than at anyone elses. the rest of u r boring. snarker is ok sumties.

I’m not sure what it means that Miss C won’t be blogging for you anymore, as I can see, most of the posts for some time now have been solely hers. How are you planning on filling the void after she’s gone? I see nothing has been posted for four days now, hope you’ll get it up and running again.

It was a big vacation time, still is actually. But Miss C. is not American (so no holiday)! Lucky us.
It was my decision as owner to not have posts for two days (yes, two) just over the weekend, so that this entry may be at the top. We needed a break.
I am in the process of hiring, but I shouldn’t talk about that, still that might help you to know.
I’m sorry if you disagree with us, but Miss Cinnamon flows differently than the network. One reason for having no curse words is for our advertisers at Glam and certain big web things we may want to be a part of. Personally, I don’t want it on here, anyway, and I own it!
I would love to see Miss Cinnamon start her own blog, if she’d like, and I would visit it.
Alice, you’re so kind.
And of course, last because not least, a big thank you to TRL!

I can see that things have picked up the pace, good for you! I totally agree that curse words or no curse words should be editors (owners) decision. In real life I’ve been a journalist for 8 years running, and I can tell you that editor’s word is the law! Anyhow, I completely respect your decision to run a non-swearing blog, it’s a nice enough change from the rest of the gossip blogs!
