Rock Star Tees and Scissors: No!

Have you ever wondered about how to glam up your oh-so-vintage rock tee? Store owner Lisa Kline is here to help, but I’m not sure if I’m feeling it. I’m getting shivers from her suggestions, and not in a good way: “Wearing your tee with jeans is so ’80s. Step it up a notch with a skirt, heels, and a belt […] or slash it with scissors for a vintage feel—whatever it takes to give your wardrobe some serious rock star ‘tude.”
Follow Bridget Moynahan’s lead and leave your shirt well alone (but perhaps sans tweed). When it comes to cutting up clothing to achieve your elusive look, I think we’ve all learned something. Amateurs need not apply. It’s amazing how fast a little snip can unravel your style.

I’ve seen various fashion shows talking about this. Cutting up a concert tee seems like sacrilege to me. I paid enough for the shirt, why would I want to destroy it? I’ve actually gone as far as to get a second shirt from Ebay just because my favorite concert tee was fading.

It’s been on What Not to Wear, a no-no.
I actually love the idea of a tweed with a funky tee! I’ll try it! And I like the skirt idea, as well.
